Continue in Claude Code

The companion turns Claude Code into a trainer: it finds your next lesson on this site, explains the exercise and guides you step by step, in your own working folder.

What it does, and what it does not do

It does

  • Read the up-to-date lesson on this site, at the moment you follow it.
  • Guide you one step at a time, and wait until you have finished.
  • Check your result against the lesson's criteria, if you show it your files.
  • Explain your mistakes and suggest the next lesson.

It does not

  • Change a file or run a command without telling you what and without your consent: that is its instruction, and in Manual mode Claude Code asks you for permission, except for what you chose to always allow.
  • Send your files to the site: the course server only serves lessons.
  • Act on your computer from the site: you are the one who opens Claude Code and talks to it.
  • Replace your progress on the site: remember to tick off your lessons there.

What you need

  • Claude Code installed in the terminal, version 2.1.224 or newer: type claude --version to check. The desktop app alone is not enough for the commands below; if the command does not exist, follow the terminal option in lesson 2 of module 4. It works with a Claude Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise subscription, or an API account: Claude's free plan does not give access to Claude Code. Claude Pro costs €18 per month excl. VAT, or €15 per month billed annually (claude.com/pricing, prices shown in France on 24/10/2026).
  • A computer running macOS 13 or newer, or Windows 10 (version 1809) or newer, with at least 4 GB of memory (official Claude Code documentation, checked on 24/10/2026).
  • If you have never used Claude Code, start with module 4: it explains everything, including the installation.

Install the companion (one time only)

Open a terminal, then paste these two commands, one after the other. The first adds the course catalog, the second installs the companion.

On Mac

Open the Terminal app (in Applications, then Utilities).

claude plugin marketplace add https://neurylio.com/compagnon/marketplace.json
claude plugin install formation-ia@formation-ia-pratique

On Windows

Open PowerShell (Start menu, type "PowerShell").

claude plugin marketplace add https://neurylio.com/compagnon/marketplace.json
claude plugin install formation-ia@formation-ia-pratique

What these commands do: Claude Code downloads a small folder from this site (the trainer's instructions and the address of the course server), checks that it matches the fingerprint published in the catalog, then installs it for your account. Nothing else is changed on your computer.

Using it

  1. Open Claude Code in your course working folder.
  2. Simply write:
Help me follow the next lesson of my course.
or type /formation-ia:suivre, followed by the id of a lesson if you want to pick one (for example /formation-ia:suivre m01-l02). To have the companion read the English version of a lesson, end the command with en (for example /formation-ia:suivre m04-l02 en).
  3. The first time, Claude Code may ask your permission to use the course server's tools. They only read lessons on this site: you can accept. The text of the lessons stays a course, not an order: the companion asks you before any action.

What is sent to the site

When the companion reads a lesson, it sends the course server the id of the lesson or resource requested, the words of a search in the course, and the list of lessons already done if you gave it to the companion. Not your files, not your name, not your answers: so do not put anything personal in a search. Like any site, the host (Vercel) keeps technical logs of requests, including the IP address.

Uninstalling it

claude plugin uninstall formation-ia@formation-ia-pratique

Procedure checked on 24/10/2026 with Claude Code 2.1.309 on Mac (official documentation: code.claude.com/docs). Not yet tested on Windows. For the curious: the companion is a Claude Code plugin that contains a skill and the address of a read-only MCP server.
