Terms of use

Version of 26 October 2026. By using the Practical AI Course, you accept these terms. If you create an account, you accept them when you create it.

1. Who publishes the course

The Practical AI Course is published by Maxime Toulemonde, sole proprietorship (entrepreneur individuel, EI), SIREN 938 972 767 (see the legal notice). Contact: contact@maximetoulemonde.com.

2. What the course is

A free online course to learn how to use artificial intelligence. It includes lessons, exercises, quizzes, downloadable resources, a workshop kit and a companion for Claude Code. It is a test version: lessons may change, be moved or be removed.

3. Access

Access is free and does not require an account. Some tools used in the lessons are paid or require an account with their publisher: each lesson says so. These tools remain subject to their publishers' terms and prices.

The course is provided as it is, with no guarantee of permanent availability. It may be interrupted for maintenance, or discontinued. If it is permanently discontinued, account holders are notified by email 30 days in advance, so that they can download their progress ("Download my progress", in My space).

4. Your account (optional)

5. What you can do with the content

Free access gives you the right to learn with the course and to use it for yourself:

These rights are personal. They give you no right to redistribute, resell or publicly reuse the content, beyond what the law allows everyone: private copying, short quotation, and the other exceptions of article L122-5 of the French Intellectual Property Code (Code de la propriété intellectuelle, CPI).

6. Intellectual property and what is forbidden without written authorisation

The original content of the course is protected by copyright and, where applicable, by the rights of database producers: its texts, the organisation and selection of its content, its exercises, its quizzes (questions, answers and explanations), its downloadable resources, its kit, its companion, its original graphic creations (visuals, illustrations, identity and interface elements), to the extent that these elements are protectable.

The course being free authorises its use under the conditions of article 5. It is not an authorisation to reproduce, redistribute or commercialise its protected content. Without the prior written authorisation of the publisher, and subject to the exceptions provided by law, it is forbidden to:

  1. reproduce all or a substantial part of the lessons or of the course, by any means (copying, capture, transcription, bulk downloading), beyond the copy for your personal use provided for in article 5;
  2. republish it on another website, an application, a training platform, a social network or a distributed document, even free of charge;
  3. redistribute its exercises, quizzes, worksheets, templates, kit, exercise files, companion or other documents to other people, other than links to the course;
  4. build a competing course, class or product from copies, translations or adaptations of its content;
  5. sell or rent copies of its content, and more generally commercially exploit its original creations, textual or graphic, without authorisation, even modified or translated: inclusion in a paid offer, a course, a book, an application, a derivative product or any paid product;
  6. extract its content in an automated or mass way: robots, site scrapers, scripts, AI agents, bulk calls to the course server or to the lesson files. It is also forbidden to extract or reuse parts of its content repeatedly and systematically;
  7. load its content into a document base, a corpus, a dataset or a third-party system (search tool, knowledge base, AI assistant made available to other people), or use it to train, fine-tune or evaluate an artificial intelligence model, beyond the personal use provided for in article 5 and subject to article 7;
  8. modify and then redistribute its content, or remove the author's credit from it;
  9. circumvent a technical protection measure or an access limit;
  10. imitate its visual identity or its interface in a way that creates confusion with the course.

These prohibitions protect the elements over which the publisher holds rights. They do not cover ideas, methods or factual information, which remain free: applying what you have learned, or explaining it in your own words, is allowed. Nor do they cover third-party content quoted in the lessons. The trademarks and software mentioned belong to their owners. The site's typefaces belong to their authors and remain usable under their licence (SIL Open Font License).

To request an authorisation (use in a classroom, an association, a company, translation, reuse of extracts): contact@maximetoulemonde.com.

Failure to comply with these rules may constitute infringement (articles L122-4 and L335-2 of the French Intellectual Property Code) or an infringement of the database producer's rights (articles L342-1 et seq.). It may also make the person responsible liable, in particular for unfair or parasitic competition.

7. Text and data mining, training of artificial intelligence

Pursuant to article L122-5-3, III, and article R122-28 of the French Intellectual Property Code, the publisher opts out of any text and data mining on the content of the Practical AI Course over which it holds rights, in particular to build datasets or to train, fine-tune or evaluate artificial intelligence systems.

This opt-out applies to that content wherever it is served: the course's pages (maximetoulemonde.com/formation), its downloadable files, its lesson files and its course server. It does not cover the rest of the maximetoulemonde.com site, content belonging to third parties (quotations, trademarks, software, typefaces under licence), or ideas, methods and facts, which remain free. It is also expressed by machine-readable means, in particular the header and the tdm-reservation tag of the TDMRep protocol, present on the course's pages and files, except for the typefaces.

This opt-out does not cover mining carried out solely for the purposes of scientific research, under the conditions of article L122-5-3, II, which the law does not allow to be prohibited, nor the personal use described in article 5, nor indexing by search engines to display links and short extracts.

8. The educational content and its limits

9. Liability

The publisher does its best to keep the content accurate and the site working. Its liability may be engaged in case of a proven breach of its obligations, under the conditions provided by law. Nothing in these terms limits the rights that the law gives to consumers.

10. Changes to these terms

These terms may change. The version in force is dated at the top of this page. An important change is announced on the site, and by email to account holders, before it applies.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer residing in another country of the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country. In case of disagreement, first write to contact@maximetoulemonde.com to look for an amicable solution. Failing that, the dispute is brought before the courts that have jurisdiction under the legal rules.
